December 2011 Website re-design

From October to December 2011, a tremendous amount of effort was taken to re-design The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada's website. The previous design had been in place for over 10 years and it was time to give the site a new "look and feel".

The changes are apparent to the general public, our members, and to the administrative staff who maintain the Society's membership records.

General changes throughout the site include:

new banner across the top of every page
larger text in the menu options
stronger emphasis of page topics
improved handling of upcoming stamp shows
next five stamp shows displayed on home page
wider screen layout to take advantage of today's technology

New features for "members only" include:

"quicker" login process (direct from home page)
can view all issues of The Canadian Philatelist, including the last five years
the "Member's link" page is now based on user-provided information as maintained by individual members in their Member's profile screen
improved e-mail notification
"quicker" renewal process

Regular visitors to The RPSC website would have immediately seen the re-design of the website in December 2011.

The Member's Profile screen has been improved by providing a 'better' and 'quicker' renewal process, re-designed form to better show one's membership details.
