The Stamps of Kaulbach Island
1977 - Train

A train may seem like an odd subject for stamps from Kaulbach Island, since the island does not have a railroad. The sound of the whistles of the daily freight from Halifax to Bridgewater may be heard clearly on the island, however.
Designed by Leonard Hardistry, the sheets, which were line perforated (11.5), were formatted 5 x 6 and were lithographed in four colours.
10,000 sets were issued, with 1000 used on first day covers.
