The Stamps of Kaulbach Island
1971 - Birds


  The first Kaulbach Island issue was a set of seven stamps depicting birds native to the area: Great Horned Owl, Blue Jay, Belted Kingfisher, Osprey, American Goldfinch, Chimney Swift and Spotted Sandpiper.
  The stamps were issued in 7 x 5 sheets (rouletted).
  37,197 sets were sold, less 3000 that were overprinted for the 1981 issue, and 1500 used on first day covers.
